Are you affected by the CRC?
If your company
owns or occupies one or more sites with Half
Hourly electricity Meters (HHM), but
consumed less than 6,000MWh of electricity
in the 2008 calendar year, then you are only
required to submit an Information Disclosure
to the Environment Agency.
If your company owns or occupies one or more
sites with HHM and consumed more than
6000MWh of electricity through these meters
in the 2008 calendar year, then you will be
required to register for full participation
with the CRC scheme.
What should you do now?
Even though the
CRC does not start until April 2010,
companies that might be affected must act
now:
•
Assess the applicability and effect the CRC
scheme will have on your business
financially, logistically, and
environmentally, and be prepared for its
introduction.
• Develop and
implement a new energy management strategy
in order to reduce your energy consumption
and benefit from the CRC scheme.
• Ask a Carbon Trust
accredited expert, such as
EcoConsulting, to conduct an energy audit
for you and identify opportunities for
enhancement.
