Local authorities, planners,
and Housing Associations (HAs)
are increasingly required to
be experts in highly diverse
subjects.
The UK government and the
Mayor of London have set
ambitious planning targets
for sustainable development,
energy efficiency, and
renewable energy and rely on
borough councils and HAs to
help them achieve their
goals.
Yet, the field of
sustainability—and how to
concretely apply it—is new
and constantly evolving, and
councillors, planners, and
HAs may not have received
sufficient information or
adequate training for it.
